Making CBD Pizza from Scratch: The Ultimate Guide

Making CBD Pizza from Scratch: The Ultimate Guide

Pizza is a staple dish that can be enjoyed by people of all ages. A perfect fun weekend activity, making pizza from scratch is a great way to bond with family and friends. I recently bought an Ooni oven for my partner, and put it to the test to write this blog for National Pizza Day. With a few simple and fresh ingredients and a bit of effort, homemade pizza is just as good, if not better, than what you would find at a restaurant.

One of the most important things to consider when making pizza from scratch is the dough. While you can make your own dough, buying premade dough can save you time and effort, and can still result in a delicious pizza. To ensure that you get the best possible pizza, look for high-quality, fresh dough (check the date!) that is made with simple ingredients. Follow the instructions to thaw. We soaked our dough in Potli Olive to bring it to room temp. Bought ours from Gus's and I'm glad we saved the headache and heartache haha.

When it comes to toppings, the options are endless. From classic cheese and pepperoni to more adventurous combinations like chicken and pesto, the key to a great pizza is to use fresh, high-quality ingredients. Being Chinese, and very sensitive to lactose I included options for non cheese pizzas below. I don't recommend vegan cheeses and they significantly add to the taste and do not add

Chili Oil Cheese Pizza: Potli Chili Oil, Mozzarella

Puttanesca: Tomato Sauce, Anchovies, Olives, Capers, Fresh Basil (Adult favorite)

Shroom: Mozzarella, sautéd mushrooms of your choices, Hot Honey (equal parts Potli Honey and Potli Sriracha or Chili Oil)

Forbidden FruitMozzarella, Prosciutto, Canned Pineapple

Once you have your dough and toppings ready, it's time to start building your pizza. Start by lightly dusting your work surface with 00 flour (this is professional grade pizza flour) to prevent the dough from sticking. Then, halve the piece of dough and gently stretch it into a circular shape, making sure to keep the edges a little thicker for a crispy crust.

Next, add your sauce, cheese, and toppings. Be careful not to overload your pizza, as this can cause the dough to become soggy. A good rule of thumb is to use about ¼ cup of sauce and 1 cup of cheese per 12-inch pizza.

Finally, it's time to bake your pizza. Preheat your oven to 425°F and place your pizza on a baking sheet or pizza stone. Bake for 12-15 minutes (following the instructions on your dough kit), or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted.

Making pizza from scratch is a fun and delicious activity that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Whether you opt to buy pre-made dough or make your own, the key to a great pizza is to use high-quality ingredients and to be creative with your toppings. Adding some CBD or THC elevates the experience. Give it a try tonight! You won't regret it!
